Transfer Talk

The biggest headline this week has to be Darwin Nunez’s move from Liverpool to Al-Hilal for a cool £46.3 million. It seems the Saudi Pro League is still buying up talent like it's going out of fashion. Liverpool, ever the shrewd operators, immediately went and signed Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth, so at least they've got their replacement. It was a busy week for Everton, who decided their best bet for survival was bringing in a floppy-haired genius. Yes, Jack Grealish has joined on loan from Manchester City. It’s a move that has a real "who saw that coming?" feel to it, and Everton fans are either ecstatic or preparing for a season of Grealish's trademark socks-around-the-ankles style. In a slightly less dramatic, but equally impactful move, Benjamin Sesko has finally arrived at Manchester United, and the club's new manager is reportedly "hugely enthusiastic" about their new "football-obsessed" striker.

Treatment Table

Pre-season is a cruel mistress, and a few teams are already feeling the pain. The heartbreaker of the week is Everton's Jarrad Branthwaite, who is now out for a long period with a hamstring injury. What's worse for Everton fans is that this news broke just as they were celebrating the Grealish loan. The football gods truly work in mysterious ways. Meanwhile, Manchester City will be without defender Josko Gvardiol and young winger Savinho for their opener against Wolves, which is a blow for Pep, but let's be honest, he's got about 15 other world-class players ready to step in.
